Does it hurt?
Every session is unique and addresses your
specific physical patterns, involving manipulation of fascia at
varying depths in the body. The sensations can range from mild
to strong and from pleasurable to momentary discomfort. At times
there may be little sensation at all.
Within the first few sessions you will
likely feel a release of tension. People often report feeling
taller and more balanced. Sometimes the effects build more
gradually, with an increasing fluidity of movement, greater
sense of ease, and increased alertness and energy.
Rolfing is losing its reputation of being
painful. Over time the work has become gentler with more refined
techniques. Rolfers are taught to listen tactiley to what is
happening in the body and work with this information, closely
monitoring the level of comfort in the client.
